At least one person was shot and one hurt during a shooting at Price Middle School in Atlanta, Ga., according to CBS Atlanta..
The Atlanta Fire Department confirmed a 14-year-old boy was shot and a teacher was also hurt, according to 11 Alive.
The teacher, a paraprofessional at the school, was likely trampled during the chaos, Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Erroll Davis told CBS Atlanta.
The 14-year-old's injuries are reportedly not life threatening and the teacher received only minor injuries.
The suspect, who was arrested immediately following the shooting, is a student, Atlanta Public Schools spokesman Stephen Alford confirmed to CBS Atlanta.
The shooting reportedly happened in the school's courtyard and was reported late Thursday afternoon.
A school resource officer, who was actually an off-duty armed Atlanta police officer, was able to get the gun away from the student, according to CBS Atlanta.
Kids began evacuating the school around 4 p.m. EST. They were sent to a nearby church.
