Law school tuition is projected to jump to historic levels in the next nine years.

But one school's tour guide says you still don't need a plan before you go for your law degree.

While that idea seems fairly shocking, 2L Cardozo Law student and tour guide Allyson Fuchs stressed it's perfectly normal to enter law school with no set plans for your future.

When Business Insider recently toured Cardozo, Fuchs spent most of the tour explaining how the school helps students figure out what they actually want to do.

Through externships, in-house clinics, field work, speakers, and seminars, the law school can help you explore what type of law you want to practice.

"It's been really my favorite part of being here," Fuchs said, adding that she wasn't sure of her exact career goal when she entered law school.

To be sure, many undergrads take out loans for college without having a specific career in mind.

Some experts say it's actually good for undergrads not to declare a major right away. And CollegeView stresses that most students actually enter secondary education without a firm idea of what they want to do with their lives.

But that advice seems more applicable to undergraduate studies.

It's great that Cardozo offers so many options to help mold its students into well-rounded lawyers.

But when Cardoza's students are paying nearly $50,000 per year for school, they need to have a pretty solid idea of what they want to do.

It doesn't seem worth it to accumulate that amount of debt if you have only a vague idea of what career you want.
