The hunt is on to find the men responsible for fatally shooting a Texas prosecutor last week.
And law enforcement isn't backing down, no matter what.
Two unidentified men shot Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse Thursday as he walked into the courthouse.
Police still don't have a motive for the crime and have been unable to identify the gunmen.
But District Attorney Mike McLelland told The Dallas Morning News he is determined to offer so much money for the men's capture that somebody will eventually have no choice but to give them up.
As of Saturday, the county Crime Stoppers was offering $71,150 in reward money.
And that sum is only expected to grow.
“The main thing I want to do is get the reward fund up to an astronomical amount so that whoever this scum is, they can’t hide from it,” McLelland told the Morning News. “The more money that stacks up, the better the things that come in. Sooner or later, this idiot’s going to say something to somebody. If there is sufficient motivation out there, that will get back to us.”
McLelland said his staff is working around the clock to find the men responsible for the fatal shooting.
“Everybody wants to get their licks in on these guys,” he told the newspaper.
