Disenchanted students are firing back at a law school dean who blamed the industry's employment crisis on the media.
In his op-ed, Case Western's law school dean Lawrence Mitchell defends law school as a sensible choice.
Even though the legal job market is currently a disaster, Mitchell argues, hefty law school debt is still worthwhile because eventually the situation will improve.
But Case Western law school students apparently don't share Mitchell's positive outlook.
"As a recent Case Western Law graduate who is drowning in student loan debt, Mitchell’s article angered me and made me feel sick to my stomach," a tipster wrote to Above The Law.
A Columbia Law student also took issue with Mitchell's piece, and emailed the dean to chide him for glossing over the fact that many law schools allegedly manipulate employment data to make things seem better than they are.
