Chinese Man Sentenced To Death For Keeping 'Sex Slaves' In Dungeon

A court in central China has sentenced a man to death for keeping 6 women as "sex slaves" in a makeshift dungeon, state news agency Xinhua reports.

35-year-old Li Hao's crimes were discovered after a woman he was keeping hostage in Luoyang, Henan province, escaped.

Li had reportedly dug the "dungeon" himself, and lured women from karaoke bars, hair salons, and massage parlors there. Once there he was accused of keeping the women there for any time between 2 and 21 months, forcing them into prostitution and online sex shows.

The court found Li, a local government clerk who was father to a young child, guilty of "murder, rape, organized prostitution, illegal detention and spreading pornography for profit".

Three of the women locked up by Li were also found guilty of murder for their own roles in the death of two women in the dungeon, though they were given lenient sentences due to the nature of the situation.
